Mycenean Site May Be Bronze-Age Sparta of Homer’s Tales

A discovery of a major Mycenaean site in Sparta/Laconia could be the Bronze Age Spartan culture that inspired Homer’s The Odyssey. Though much has been excavated from the late Mycenaean period, the new site dates back to 1700 BCE, helping archaeologists fill in a historical gap. Read more at the Washington Post.
