Application for Lecturer in Modern Greek Studies
The Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies at Princeton University invites applications for a one-year (renewable) full-time lecturer position in Modern Greek Studies, to begin September 1, 2018. A joint appointment with an academic department may be possible.
Duties include: (a) Teaching two courses in Modern Greek Studies: one course in the fall 2018 at Princeton and a second course in spring 2019, while in residence in Athens; (b) Assisting the Director of the Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies year-round with the administrative work of setting up and managing Princeton’s Study in Greece program at the Princeton Athens Center, as well as other Hellenic Studies academic activities in Greece during the 10-month academic year and during the following summer months, assuming successful reappointment.
We seek a dynamic early-career scholar with academic training in a humanities or social science discipline and a Modern Greek Studies focus, capable of innovative teaching at all levels from the introductory to the advanced undergraduate level. The position requires someone able to demonstrate the importance and relevance of their field to students and colleagues with interests across the humanities and the social sciences. Candidates with comparative, cross-disciplinary interests, and a commitment to excellence in their academic discipline and in Modern Greek Studies are encouraged to apply.
